FIRE WALL INSPECTION
Fire wall reporting is vital for any building, regardless of whether it is domestic or commercial, as it tells you whether the current fire wall you have is compliant with the current fire safety standards.
Fire Wall Report
In recent years, the regulations regarding fire safety and fire wall reports have changed a lot, and a lot of fire protection materials and measures that were previously compliant have now been rendered obsolete and no longer compliant with updated regulations. With fire safety regulations changing regularly, it is a good idea to hire a trained professional to give you a detailed fire wall report, and that’s where GRJ Surveying comes in!
Our team of highly trained and experienced professional surveyors have years of collective experience in surveying both residential and commercial properties for a wide range of things, from fire wall reports to structural steel coating inspections. This means you can be confident that when you get our reports that they are reliable, accurate and easy to understand and, if there is anything that needs doing to ensure that your property is compliant with the latest safety regulations, that they are clear and easy to understand, so you can focus on making sure your property is safe and not having the hassle of trying to understand fire wall report lingo.

WHAT ARE WE INSPECTING FOR?
Fire Wall Inspection
Fire wall inspections are a must-have if your building has a compartmental fire protection design, as the fire walls are a key part of that design. This means that fire wall inspections need to be taken more regularly than regular inspections to buildings. However, if well maintained and kept to the current regulations, fire walls can provide protection to almost any location, from offices to electrical substations and important areas such as vaults or server rooms. This makes fire walls invaluable to some of these previously mentioned places, as they can help to both keep fires out to protect contents inside of the wall and contain fires that started inside of the fire wall - provided that the fire wall inspections are properly carried out and the wall is properly maintained.

FAQs
Why do I need a fire wall survey?
Fire wall survey is carried out to find areas within your building where the fire resistant walls have been breached. This allows us to advise on the correct remedial works that need to be performed to limit the spread of fire and smoke in your building through the walls.
How often do my fire walls need to be surveyed?
There are no specific time periods for how often a fire wall survey should be carried out. The regulations simply say that a fire survey should be done ‘regularly’ by a responsible person to ensure your passive fire protection is up to date.
What is the purpose of a fire wall?
A fire wall is a fire-resistant barrier that is installed in a building to stop the spread of fire through the walls for a certain amount of time. Fire walls are used in fire compartmentation to divide a building into more manageable areas that are compliant with the fire safety regulations.
